Anthony is regularly commissioned to write programme notes and CD liner notes on a wide range of orchestral and chamber repertoire for some of the most celebrated artists in the world, and for organisations such as the Aldeburgh Festival and Camerata Musica Cambridge. He has also helped numerous renowned soloists and ensembles with their biographies.
Artists for whom he has written notes include pianists Mitsuko Uchida, Daniil Trifonov, Piotr Anderszewski and Igor Levit; string quartets such as the Takács Quartet, Juilliard Quartet, Belcea Quartet and Quatuor Ébène; lieder recitalists such as Matthias Goerne, Christian Gerhaher and Malcolm Martineau; and soloists such as cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras and violinist Isabelle Faust.
He recently edited the English translations of the French liner notes for Quatuor Ébène's 'Beethoven Around the World' complete Beethoven cycle for Sony Classical, and was commissioned to write the complete programme notes for the North York Moors Festival.
